Celebrating the festivals eco-friendly way

Festivals are the time we connect with extended family and community. We celebrate many festivals that add richness to our daily lives. But most of the time, we pay less attention to the pollution that is caused to air, water and our life sustaining soil.

 HSR Citizen Forum volunteers sensitize people by conducting Eco-friendly Ganesha workshops every year.  We have conducted workshops in many local parks, temples, small community halls and also in many companies like Infosys, 3M etc. With Karnataka Pollution Control board banning the use of POP Ganesha's and due to our sustained efforts, last year during the Ganesha immersion we found very few POP Ganeshas. 

We also involve ourselves in management of festival wastes. We work with BBMP to see that all the waste reach the correct destinations.
